Mrs. Kathryn Jacobs Dickenson
Belvedere, SC-Funeral Services for Mrs. Kathryn Jacobs Dickenson, 83, of Newcastle Ave, who entered into rest March 4, 2010, will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Bel-Ridge Baptist Church. Rev. Earl Welch and Dr. Roy L. Head officiating. Interment in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Dickenson was a native of Newport News, VA, having made Belvedere her home for the past 50 years. She was a Registered Nurse and worked in the medical field for several years before dedicating her time to her family as a homemaker. Once her children were raised, Mrs. Dickenson worked as a kindergarten teacher at Happy Times Kindergarten with Marsha Gossett. She was a dedicated Christian and was a member of Bel-Ridge Baptist Church where she served in many capacities including Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member and WMU Director. Additionally, she volunteered her time with Community Ministries of North Augusta and the Augusta Genealogical Society. Mrs. Dickenson was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her Husband Mr. Bill Dickenson.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, John and Mary Dickenson, North Augusta, Larry and Ellen Dickenson, Alexandria, VA and Jim and Maureen Dickenson, Jacksonville, FL; nine grandchildren, Mary Denise Dickenson, Marie Dickenson, Katie Pogachnik, Josh Dickenson, Tracy Malpass, Amanda Smith, Pam Scott, Laurie Pilcher and Dawn Gillespie; five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be beloved family members, James Kiser, Trey Scott, Adam Pogachnik, Josh Dickenson, Chris Gillespie and Erik Smith.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Friday evening from 5 until 7.
